We organize “Backyard BBQ” to support our students who work hard for the OYO-Festival (school culture festival)!
As the BBQ Special Committee, we serve hamburgers and hot dogs at the OYO-Festival. In 2019, we sold hot hamburgers grilled over charcoal, Currywurst, German hot dog and Korean style hot dogs flavored with Gochujang (Korean spicy sauce). All the menu items were sold out with 2,800 served for each for just two days.
Approximately 80 members are divided into four teams, and each team carries out their own tasks.
- The Comm Team ・・・・ produce meal tickets, posters, T-shirts and aprons, and sell meal tickets during the event.
- Food preparation team ・・・・ prepare food and drinks, and cook burgers during the event.
- Hygienic and accounting team ・・・・ implement hygiene management, notification to the health authority, and accounting.
- Grill team ・・・・・ grill breads and patties over charcoal during the event.
Currently, since we are unable to serve food at the Oyo Festival, we are carrying out the following activities for the next school year.
- Create a video of the hamburgers and hotdogs making process.
- Form four groups to do a test cooking of the BBQ.
- Set up tents to find good location and tips of the setting.
- Hold regular meetings via Zoom to build up fellowship.
- Annual schedule, frequency of committee meetings, etc.

Due to the school’s policy, we unfortunately will not be able to hold activities at the O-Yo Festival in 2023, but we will hold a BBQ practice session and deepen our friendship.
We usually hold 4-5 regular meetings a year.
※Based on an approval at the first PTA Steering Committee meeting, BBQ Special Committee’s activities can be kicked off.

The BBQ special committee has a very homey and friendly atmosphere.
Once our child becomes a high school student, we have fewer chances to get involved in the school life. The committee’ activities not only on the days of the Oyo Festival but also through attending the regular meetings and mowing at the school garden before the festival, we can get to know people from different background.
